Tributes paid to Carlow woman who was a 'kind and generous lady' following her passing

Esther Dowling - Tuesday 30th July 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Esther Dowling of Nurney, Bagenalstown, County Carlow.

Esther passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, in the tender care of the staff of The Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow.

Predeceased by her brothers James (Jim), Paddy, Ger and Andrew and her sisters Betty, Mary and Agnes. Esther will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her brother Ted, sister Rita and sister-in-law Betty, nieces, nephews, extended family and her friends from St. Lazerian’s House, Bagenalstown and The Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:

"Sincere sympathy to all the Dowling family on Esther's death. She made me very welcome on a visit to her home in Nurney years ago to discuss our family tree. She was a kind and generous lady. May she now rest in peace with the rest of her family who have gone to Heaven before her. RIP Esther."

Another reads: "Deepest Sympathy to Rita ,Teddy and all the Dowling family on Esthers passing. A lovely lady and good friend and neighbour to us. May she reat in peace."

A third user writes: "Sincere sympathy to Teddy, Rita and all the Dowling Family on the passing of Esther. Fond memories of Esther's visits to the shop over the years , her presence would brighten any day. Rest in peace Esther."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Our Lady’s Chapel, St. Andew’s Church, Bagenalstown, on Thursday, 31st July, from 3pm until 8pm. Removal from St. Andrew’s Church on Friday, 2nd August, to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Newtown, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Newtown Cemetery.
