Tributes have been paid to Carlow man who was a  'pleasure to have known' following his passing

Bernard (Barney) Hennessy - Sunday 1st September 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Bernard (Barney) Hennessy of 11 Willow Park, Tullow Road, County Carlow and formerly of St Killian's Crescent and Whitney Place, Carlow.

Bernard passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 1st 2024 under the wonderful care of the nurses and staff at The District Hospital Carlow.

Beloved husband of the late Ina, much loved father of Brigid, John, Kathleen, and Olivia and cherished brother of Teresa and the late Lily, Marie and Sean.

He will be sadly missed by his loving son, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, sister, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:

"Deepest sympathy to all the Hennessy Family on the death of your beloved Father and Grand Father.
I have happy memories of working with Barney for many years in Crotty's.
He was a gentleman and a pleasure to have known.
Rest in Peace Barney"

Another reads: "Sincere condolences to Jonn, Bridget Kathleen, Olivia,and Teresa, his sons in law John, Ger and TJ daughter in law Jacinta brother in law Pat, all his grandchildren and great grandchildren and all the extended family on the sad passing of Barney. Thinking of you all at this difficult and sad time. R.I.P Barney."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq., Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) from 3pm on Tuesday, September 3rd, concluding with Prayers that evening at 8pm. Removal from there on Wednesday at 10.30am to The Holy Family Church, Askea arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.
