Tributes have been paid following the passing of a Carlow woman who was a 'great cohesive presence'

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Gartland, Teresa, (née Shannon) of Artane and formerly of Hacketstown, Co. Carlow.

Teresa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of staff at the Beaumont Hospital on Sunday the 15th of December 2024.

Loving mother of Áine, Michael, John, Deirdre and Kevin. Predeceased by her adored husband William (Billy). Sadly missed by her sons and daughters, sons-in-law Dermot and Jack, daughters-in-law Ann, Miriam and Susan, 13 grandchildren, great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere sympathies to Deidre and all the Gartland family on the death of your dear mum Teresa - what a great Mum she was - always loved hearing the stories from Deidre how she navigated rearing a family and the great cohesive presence she was in all your lives - she will be sadly missed - May she rest in Peace"

Another reads:

"SOur Sincerest condolences to the Gartland family and the extended family circle.
Thinking of you all at this very sad time on the passing of Teresa.
May Teresa rest in heavenly peace."
