Tributes paid to Carlow woman who was 'such a vibrant person' following her passing

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Catherine Matthews (née Butler) of Woodglade, Fenagh, Carlow.

Catherine passed away peacefully at her home on the 11th of January 2025.

Catherine will be sadly missed by her loving husband Derek, son Alan, daughter Michelle, mother Lily, son-in-law Adrian, grandson William, brother Michael, sisters Siobhan and Elizabeth, brothers-in-law Michael and Dermot, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"So sad to hear Catherine has died. Such a vibrant person it’s hard to imagine her gone. Sincerest condolences to Derek, Alan, Michelle and the Matthews and Butler families. Paula & Sadbh"

Another reads: 

"God bless you i miss your smile laughter and the fun we had when we got together you will be greatly miss anyway I've got your picture on my wall I'll be having a chat with you love Maria"

Funeral arrangements

Reposing at McGuill's Funeral Home, Bennekerry, R93 E5N7, on Tuesday from 2.00p.m. until 8.00p.m. with Prayers at 6.00p.m. Removal on Wednesday at 10.20a.m. to St. Patrick's Church, Newtown, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.00a.m. followed by burial in adjoining cemetery,
