'A beautiful person' Tributes paid following the passing of Carlow woman

Mary Woods (née O'Neill) - Ballinakilbeg, Bennekerry, Carlow - Monday 13th January 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Mary Woods (née O'Neill) of Ballinakilbeg, Bennekerry, Carlow.

Mary passed away at Beechwood Nursing Home, Leighlinbridge on the 13th of January 2025.

Beloved wife of the late Jim Woods and mother of the late Sėamus and Niall Woods; predeceased by her sisters Annie, Kathleen and Brigid. Mary is the much-loved mother of John, Siobhán, Pat, Adrian and David, adored grandmother of Andrea, Eoin, Garreth, Aaron, Conor, Marcus, Cian, Dearbhla, OisÍn, James, Seán, Ciara, Aoife, Orla and Jack. Mary will be deeply missed by her sons, daughter, son-in-law Brendan, daughters-in-law Mary, Jacinta, Ruth and Liz, grandchildren, her best friend Mary Tracey, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

"Wherever we go, Mam will always be in our hearts."

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"My sincere condolences to all the Woods family on the loss of Mary, thinking of you at this sad time. I regularly met Mary with her great friend Mary T in Brooks and always enjoyed chatting with her, a beautiful person. Rest in Peace Mary."

Another reads: 

"Deepest sympathies to all the Woods family on the sad passing of your beautiful mother, Mary . Thinking of you all , and Mary T too , at this very sad time .
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis"

Funeral arrangements

Reposing at her home in Ballinakilbeg (Eircode R93 X3F6) on Tuesday January 14th from 2.00p.m. concluding with Prayers at 8.00p.m. Removal from her home on Wednesday at 1.30p.m. to St. Mary's Church, Bennekerry, arriving for Funeral Mass at 2.00p.m., followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.
