'A long life well lived' Tributes paid following the passing of local woman

Angela Hickey (née Murphy) - Kildavin, Carlow - Wednesday 15th January 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Angela Hickey (née Murphy) of Crowsgrove, Kildavin, Bunclody, Wexford / Riverchapel, Wexford / Kildavin, Carlow.

Angela passed away peacefully at her home on the 15th of January 2025 in her 101st year.

Predeceased by her loving husband Paddy, her sister Sr. Elizabeth, her twin brother Dick, her brothers Peter, Brendan and Noel and her son-in-law Alan. Much loved mother of Mary, Patrick, John and Ann. Sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Bernie and her grandchildren Sean, Paraic, Áine, Donal and Orlagh, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Deepest sympathy to John, Bernie, Donal & all the Hickey family on the death of your dear mother/grandmother. A long life well lived. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace."

Another reads: 

"On behalf of the Board of Management , staff and parents of Tinahely NS we wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Donal , Stephanie and the extended Hickey family on the passing of Angela -a lovely lady whom I had the privilege of meeting on your special wedding day .
May she rest in peace now ."

Funeral arrangements

Reposing at Lennon's Funeral Home Bunclody on Thursday, 16th January, from 2pm - 6.30pm followed by removal to St. Lazerian's Church, Kildavin, for reception prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am with live streaming. Burial afterwards in the new cemetery, Kildavin.
