Carlow crash victims who will be 'remembered fondly' to repose at Carlow funeral home

Two victims of a crash in County Carlow on January 31st are set to be remembered at Carpenters Funeral Home in Carlow on Friday February 7th following the tragic crash that saw both the men lose their lives on the 31st of January 2025.

Both Bhargav Chitturi and Suresh Cherukuri, aged in their 20s, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, when their vehicle crashed into a tree on the N80 in Leagh, Rathoe, Carlow at around 1:15am on Friday January 31st 2025.

They will repose at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (R93 C863) from 3.30pm until 8pm on Friday February 7th. Suresh and Bhargav will then be repatriated to their heartbroken families in India.

A Go Fund Me was set up for the families of the two victims, along with the other two people that were injured in the crash which is currently at over €66,000.

The fundraiser was set up to cover funeral costs for the two men and other financial challenges their families may encounter.

In addition, 15% of the donations will be allocated to the surviving victims of the crash, that suffered multiple injuries but non-life threatening injuries.

Tributes for the two men have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:

Bhargav:

"Such a tragedy. RIP young man. Deepest condolences to your friends, colleagues, fellow students and your family in India."

Another reads:

"Sincere condolences to Bargo's family & friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Bargo will be missed and remembered fondly. Bargo you had the kindest heart and our girls always say you had the biggest smile. Rest easy our friend. "

Suresh:

"Sincere condolences to all the family of Suresh on the tragic loss at such a young age. May he rest in peace."

"My sincere condolences, to his friends and family. Both here in Ireland, and his native India.

Remember him, in the kiosk, at Carlow Railway station. Always pleasant, and had a smile. Most cold wet Monday's. On my weekly commute.

May he rest in peace."
