Tributes paid to Carlow man who was a 'privilege to know' following his passing

Seán (John) O'KEEFFE - Carlow Town, Carlow / Asdee, Kerry - Sunday 2nd February 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Seán (John) O’Keeffe of Oak Park, Carlow , (Retired CEO, County Carlow VEC).

Seán passed away in the gentle care of the District Hospital on the 2nd of February 2025.

Beloved husband of Noirín and much loved father of Mary, Lillian, Noreen, Shaun, Sinead and Padraig. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, sister Maureen, son-in-law Eugene, daughters-in-law Kerrie and Lisa, his cherished 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Deepest condolences to Noirin and all the Family on the loss of Sean. He was a true gentleman and a privilege to know. He will be missed by us all in Tralee. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all."

Another reads:

"Deepest sympathy to Noirin and all the O'keeffe family, so sorry to hear the very sad news of Sean's passing. Fond memories of meeting Sean in Asdee over the years with Joe and Helena, always so warm, friendly and kind, a true gentleman, may he rest in peace."

Funeral arrangements

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Tuesday (Feb 4th) from 2pm followed by removal at 6.30pm to the Cathedral of the Assumption to arrive for 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10am. Burial afterwards in Sleaty Cemetery.
