RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow native who was 'always good to have chats with'

Matt KELLY - Carlow Town, Carlow / Paulstown, Kilkenny - Monday 10th March 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Matt Kelly of Radharc Oisín, Killeshin Road, and formerly of New Oak Estate, Carlow and originally Shankill, Paulstown, County Kilkenny.

Matt passed away St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny on March 10th 2025.

Beloved husband of the late Rita and much loved father of Denise, Matthew, Maureen and Anthony. Sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, sons-in-law Jimmy and Brian, daughters-in-law Nicola and Mel, grandchildren Adrian, Kieran, Liam, James and Aidan, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his grandchildren Seán and Grace and by his siblings Paddy, Sadie, Nancy, Eileen, John and Michael.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Our Deepest Condolences To The Kelly Family On The Passing Of Matt ! He was a gentleman and always good to have chats with, always smiling even when you were asking him for a lone in the credit union, GOD BLESS YOU MATT REST IN PEACE, Another One Of The Braun Factory Family Gone"

Another reads:

"Condolences to all of Matt's family. One of life's gentlemen.. A very quiet unassuming man. Always willing to lend a hand when needed. May he rest in heavenly peace."

Funeral Arrangements.

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Wednesday (March 12th) from 4pm to 7.30pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in St. Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
