'A true gentleman of the town' - Carlow heartbroken by the loss of local pharmacist Paul White
Tributes have flooded in following the death of Carlow man Paul White who sadly passed away on Wednesday, 9 April surrounded by his family.
Paul leaves behind his wife Anita, three daughters Ailbhe, Emily and Chloe, sons-in-law Mark, Derek and Padraig, grandsons Zach, Charlie and Jack, extended family and a wide circle of friends.
Of course, Paul was a well known figure in the Carlow Town community as he continued on the family business, White's Pharmacy, which his father Michael White established in 1951.
The pharmacy has played a central role in the community for generations, and evidently from the hundreds of messages left online since his passing, Paul has left quite the legacy in Carlow.
There has been an outpouring of support from the local community towards the White family and many people have taken to share their fondest memories as well as kind words about Paul as a pharmacist, businessman and a person.
Among the many heartfelt messages on Paul's RIP.ie notice, one person wrote: "One of life's gentlemen. Paul went above and beyond for the people of Carlow, including our family. We will never forget his kindness and compassion."
Another shared: "Paul was one of the nicest, sweetest people I have ever met. Always kind, caring and supportive. He was so good to my family over the years. "
One person said: "Paul's generosity, caring manner and friendship will never be forgotten."
Paul will be reposing at Healy's Funeral Home in Pollerton on Sunday, 13 April from 2pm to 6pm. The funeral mass will take place on Monday, 14 April at 10am in the Cathedral of the Assumption. Burial will follow afterwards in St. Mary's Cemetery.
