RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow woman who was a 'lovely lady' following her passing

Brigid Monica (Bridie) Twomey (née Whelan) - Dundrum, Dublin / Carlow - Thursday 5th June 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Brigid Monica (Bridie) Twomey
(née Whelan) of Pollerton Little, Castledermot Road, Carlow and previously of Balbriggan Walkinstown, Dublin.

Brigid passed away peacefully after a short illness in St. Vincent’s University Hospital on Thursday the 5th of June 2025.

Predeceased by her grandson Harry. She will be deeply missed and remembered with much love and affection by her beloved husband Michael, her children Pauline, Cilian, Donla, Colum, Senan and Daragh, their partners Jimmy, Padraig, Sharon, Louise, and Ana, her cherished grandchildren James, Conor, Naoise, Ronan, Clodagh, Guillermo and Cormac, brothers-in-law Diarmuid and Dominic, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"My sincere condolence to you all, Michael and family, on Bridie’s death. She was one lovely lady. She is now on High. Suaimhneas síorraí di I measc na naoimh."

Another reads:

"Pauline, heartfelt condolences to you and all your family on the loss of your dear Mum. Our thoughts are with you at this time.
May she rest in Peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum on Saturday (7th June) from 3pm to 5pm.

Removal on Monday morning (9th June) to the Church of the Holy Cross, Dundrum arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.30am followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park.
