RIP: 'A wonderful man' Tributes pour in following the passing of local Carlow man

Peter Brennan - Dublin Street, Carlow - Sunday 8th June 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Peter Brennan of Dublin Street, Carlow and formerly, Grange, Carlow.

Peter passed away peacefully in the kind and gentle care of the staff of Hillview Nursing Home on Sunday 8th of June 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and brothers Jer, Paddy and Mick.

Peter will be deeply missed by his devoted daughter Orlaith and his dear brothers Jack and Oliver.

His loss is also mourned by his nephews and nieces as well as extended family, kind neighbours and many friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sympathy to Jack and all Peters family on the passing of a wonderful man --if one could say that you all must have been very proud that Fr,Dillon gave Peter a very moving send off, meaning the story of Peters successful life and the beautiful mass also most beautiful music and singing and all who helped at funeral mass made it very special for you all."

Another reads: 

"Deepest sympathy Orlaith on the passing of your Dad, Peter. RIP. We have happy memories of meeting you both at various Leinster Rugby games over the years, especially the 2012 Eu Heineken final versus Ulster in Twickenham. Happy memories to help you through this sad time. Ian & Steph."

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (Eircode R93 C863) on Tuesday (June 10th) from 4pm, concluding with Prayers at 8pm that evening. Removal from there on Wednesday at 9.45am to The Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in at Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow. (driving to cemetery, via his residence on Dublin St, due to temporary closure of Dublin Road).
