RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow native who was a 'wonderful' man following his passing

James ( Jim ) Kearns - Scortreen, Borris, Carlow / Camolin, Wexford - Sunday 15th June 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of James ( Jim ) Kearns of Borris, Carlow and formerly of London and Glen Lane, Camolin, Wexford.

James passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 15th June surrounded by his loving and heartbroken family in his 92nd year.

Beloved husband of Margaret and much loved father of George, Helen, James and Gerard, son-in-law Michael David, daughters-in-law Audrey, Mags and Emma as well as his 11 grandchildren and his great- grandchildren. Much missed by his sister Anne (Clonmel) and his many relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Deepest sympathies to you Margaret and all your family on the passing of Jim, may his gentle soul rest in peace."

Another reads: 

"Our heartfelt sympathy to you all on the sad passing of Mr.Kearns. I hadn't the pleasure of personally knowing him but I do know from George and Audrey he was a wonderful most loved person. Prayers and love to you all."

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at Joyce's Funeral Home, Main Street, Borris on Monday 16th of June from 6pm to 8 pm and on Tuesday 17th June from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Family only from 5.30pm please. Removal to St. Fortchern's Church, Rathanna arriving at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass in Rathanna Church on Wednesday 18th June at 11 am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Irish Cancer Society Pallative Homecare Unit
