RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow man who was a 'lovely gentleman' following his passing

Patrick Joseph (Joe) Callinan - Carlow Town, Carlow - Wednesday 25th June 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Patrick Joseph (Joe) Callinan of Pollerton Little, Carlow and originally St.Fiacc's Terrace, Graiguecullen.

Patrick passed away peacefully in the gentle care of Archersrath Nursing Home, Kilkenny in his 93rd year on June 25th 2025.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Sarah and son Dermot.

Sadly missed by his loving daughter Bernadine, son-in-law Michael, daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren Dr. Kieran Chalk, Joseph Chalk, Charlotte Callinan and Elizabeth Callinan, great-grandchildren Cameron and Emilia, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Deepest condolences to all Joe family I’m many years walking past Joe house always with his little dog by his side he loved chats he was a lovely gentleman rest easy now Joe"

Another reads: 

"So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Rip. He was a very intelligent and informative man. A good friend of my dad as well as a cousin! May he sleep in eternal peace!"

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at his home on Monday (June 30th) from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday (July 1st) at 11am in St. Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
