Tributes have been paid following the passing of Bernadette (Berry) Walsh of Cois Abhainn, Burrin Road, Carlow and formerly Sleaty, Carlow and Birmingham, England.
Bernadette passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 27th, 2025, in St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved mother of P.J, Raymond, Richard, Paul and Clare, cherished sister of Anna, Margaret, Teresa, Philomena, Pauline, Mary, John, Richard, Brendan, Paschal, Liam, Joe and the late Gabriel, Michael and Patty, adored grandmother of Elisa, Abbey, Kaylah, Tia, Sinead, Billy and the late Ali and treasured daughter of the late Paddy and Betty.
She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, daughter-in-law Niamh, Bernadene and Kath, Clare’s partner Ken, Raymond’s partner Katherine, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law
sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, good neighbours and friends.
Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows:
"Sincere condolences to Berry sons daughter grandchildren and extended family.Berry was a beautiful lady always loved a chat and a laugh.Berry will be sadly missed by her family friends and wonderful neighbours.may Berry gently soul rest in eternal peace."
Another reads:
"Condolences to all the Walsh family on the sad passing of Bernie, she was a lovely lady. Many's the chats we had in Tesco when we would meet shopping. Rest in Peace Bernie."
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (Eircode R93 C863) on Monday (June 30th) from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Tuesday at 9.45am to The Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in Killeshin Cemetery, Killeshin, Co Laois
