Tributes have poured in following the death of Patrick Joseph (Paddy) Byrne, who has been described as a "talented and inspirational man".
Paddy, late of Ballywilliamroe, Bagenalstown, county Carlow, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving wife & family, on Monday July 28, in his 89th year.
He is predeceased by his sisters Nan and Kathleen, brother Ned and his first wife Mary.

Beloved husband of Kathleen, much loved father of Lily, Pat, Nuala, Paschal, Caroline, Nicola and Paul.
Paddy is deeply regretted by his wife, sons, daughters, sons-in-law Tom, Ray, John and Andy, daughters-in-law Annie, Elaine & Erin, grandchildren Colm, Hazel, Louise, Melissa, Paula, Caoilfhionn, Daniel, Alexandra, Oliver, Aoife, Andrew, Eoin & Cara, great-grandchildren Rebecca, Dylan, Hugo, Dante, Hayden & Alfred, sisters Phyllis, Mary, Tess, Carmel and Bridie, brothers Jimmy, Tom and Anthony, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, carers, kind neighbours and his many friends.
Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Paddy, with one mourner writing,
"There are no words to express the sadness of loosing a matriarch of a family. Paddy was a very talented, inspirational man, who taught not only his immediate family but a wide circle of people his skills with patience & kindness To Paddy's family & extended family our heartfelt condolences to you all. What a man he was and his legacy will live on."
Another wrote,
"Sincere condolences to all of the Byrne family on the sad passing of Paddy. He did a lot of good in his time on earth. May He now Rest in Peace."
While another wrote,
"Deepest sympathies to Paddy's wife Kathleen, his children, brothers and sister's, and all of the extended families on the loss of a wonderful gentleman. Many years ago I had the pleasure of working with Paddy in Keenan's, and he then went on to establish together with his brother's a remarkable successful engineering company. Rest In Peace Paddy, Your Work Is Complete."

Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Kearney's Funeral Home, Fenagh on Tuesday from 2pm until 9pm.
Removal from his home on Wednesday to arrive at Saint Patrick's Church, Newtown for 2pm Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
