Family fundraiser walk to be held in Carlow very soon for important charity

A 5km family walk will be held in Carlow this weekend to raise much needed funds for Waterford Hospice and Eíst Carlow.

The walk will be held on Saturday Aughust 1st in memory of a woman named Andrea who sadly died due to an illness.

“Both of these wonderful organisations went above and beyond in terms of looking after Andrea during her sickness and its hugely important that their services continue to provide the same level of care to other people in Carlow and the South East if and when its needed,” Stephen Rooney said on GoFundMe.

“Andrea was a huge supporter of the Action Breast Cancer initiative and along with her Centra team they organised many successful fundraising walks in Ballon over the years.

“It seems fitting to try to continue in the same path but to also do something a little bit unique just for her”.

The walk will start at Zerafas Centra Ballon where there will be a supervised and safe 5km family friendly walk/run around the area and loop back to the shop for refreshments afterwards.
