"So now that I've had a couple of days to reflect on the weekend I can honestly say I'm desperately disappointed I lost my seat on Carlow county council it was my life I put 39 years into politics but I'm extremely proud of my time and when I look back I'd change nothing I genuinely loved every minute of my time serving Bagenalstown and South Carlow.
I am so humbled by the support I got this election and previous elections so thank you to everyone that put your faith in me threw the years and voted for me I will continue to help people that need me may it be just some advice or if you need forms filled up anything I can do I will.
Thanks so much to my team that canvassed put up posters did various jobs for me especially my great friend Johnny butler who has be on this journey with me from day one.
Well done to those councillors whom got elected congratulations it's not easy putting yourselves out there
To my family who have supported everyday not easy some days but always had my back thank you
Someone said something like what has he actually done in 33 years, well I can tell you one thing I got up out of bed and worked every single day and worked as hard as I could and that I'm proud to say so from Councillor Arthur mc Donald its over and out thank you."
