Funding secured to keep Rehab support services open with 'threat of closure lifted'

Great news!
Funding has been secured of €2m to keep the Rehab support services open across the country and the "threat of closure has been lifted".
The Rehab Group had said that support services for up to 3,000 people across the country - including people in Carlow with disabilities - were at serious risk due to underfunding.
It said unless it got an extra €2m from the Government, services at Rehab Care would be forced to close.
Senator Jennifer Murnane O'Connor broke the news this evening on her Facebook page that after negotiations with Minister for Health, Simon Harris, the group's representatives had secured funding.
She said: "Today I met with Rehab representatives, I appealed for funding to be released to keep this vital service open.
"I am delighted to report that funding has been secured of €2m and the threat of closure has been lifted. This is such great news, well done to all involved."
