Fundraising coffee morning in Carlow to support independence for people with disabilities

RehabCare Carlow are hosting a fundraising coffee morning event "A Cup of Care" at 11am on Friday 20th October at the RehabCare Carlow Resource Centre, Killeshin Road, Graiguecullen, Carlow.
RehabCare Carlow supports thirty-three individuals in the county with aspects of their learning disability, physical and sensory needs and mental health difficulties.
The centre also runs Sli Eile Community Hub, where twelve young people are supported, emphasising community inclusion, educational opportunities, employment/vocational opportunities, independent living, health and wellbeing, personal expression and creativity.
Service user Paul Lyons, who lives in Carlow Town, has attended Sli Eile Community Hub for the last four years. He loves attending the hub, where he meets his friends. Paul participates in cooking, literacy, and money management programmes. He works in Waterlilies cafe one day a week and hopes to increase this to two with support from Sli Eile staff.
The aim of the event is to raise vital funds which will enable individuals with disabilities to lead independent lives and pursue their goals and ambitions. Service Users are supported in independent living, health and wellbeing, social and leisure, employment, education, volunteering, training and personal development.
The proceeds from "A Cup of Care" will directly benefit local RehabCare centres, programmes and initiatives in Carlow.
