SETU Carlow were defeated by six points in their opening game of the Sigerson Cup against St Mary's Belfast on Tuesday.
Playing at home, SETU Carlow were one point down at the break but St Mary's pulled away in the second half to win on a scoreline of 0-14 to 0-8.
The Sigerson Cup continues tonight as UCC come up against UL and current holders University of Galway host Maynooth University.
