SETU Carlow had their first victory in the Sigerson Cup on Wednesday night while the hurlers drew in their first Fitzgibbon Cup outing.
The footballers, who were defeated by St Mary’s University College in round one, overcame Munter Technological University Kerry by three points on a scoreline of 2-09 to 12.
Meanwhile, the hurlers earned a hard-fought draw against Mary Immaculate College as Mount Leinster Rangers brothers Jon and Chris Nolan came up against each other. Chris scored a late point for SETU Carlow in a contest which ended 1-16 a piece at the full-time whistle.
