Carlow’s footballers and hurlers now know their paths for the 2026 Allianz National League with the fixtures confirmed for the months ahead.
Both panels face demanding campaigns across late January, February and March, with a strong emphasis on home games, particularly for the footballers.
In Division 4 of the Allianz Football League, Carlow begin their campaign away to Antrim in Toomebridge on Sunday, January 25. They then return home for a Saturday evening clash with Wicklow, before alternating between home and away fixtures as the league progresses.
Trips to Thurles to face Tipperary and to Longford’s Glennon Brothers Pearse Park break up the home ties, while Waterford, London and Leitrim will all travel to Cullen Park. With the final two rounds both at home, there is potential for those games to carry added significance.
Carlow’s hurlers face a challenging Division 1B campaign, opening with a home tie against Down. Further home fixtures against Clare and Dublin follow, while away trips to Wexford, Antrim and Kildare will test the side against strong opposition early in the season.
The league runs through to late March, providing both squads with valuable competitive action ahead of the championship, while offering supporters plenty of chances to follow Carlow teams on home soil.
