As we still await the first count in the Carlow/Kilkenny first count in the General Election, let's look back at what we know so far.
So looking at the results from the first tally, we see a strong showing for two of the Fianna Fáil candidates in the Constituency with Carlow's Jennifer Murnane O'Connor with a 11.8% share from the first tally and Kilkenny's John McGuiness topping the early polls with a 14% share.

Just behind is another Fianna Fáil candidate, Peter 'Chap' Cleere who has a 10.4% share.
Where it gets really interesting is the battle for the final two seats, which sees Fine Gael's Catherine Callaghan with 9.7%, Sinn Féin's Áine Gladney Knox with 9.4% and her party colleague, Natasha Newsome Drennan on 7.9%.
With early indication Carlow candidates might be able to scoop two of the five seats and an outside chance that Carlow Candidates may even get three seats, but we shall see.
But we will see when the first count eventually comes in, which once the count has been made can be found on the Carlow Live LIVE BLOG HERE.
