Established Kilkenny politician loses out in race for the Dáil

The Labour Party's Sean Ó hArgain has been eliminated on the sixth count on the sixth count at the Carlow-Kilkenny General Election.

Mr Ó hArgain was the party's only representative in the election and is currently the only sitting Labour Party councillor in Kilkenny City.

Minister for the Environment and Electoral Reform, Malcom Noonan and Independent councillor Eugene McGuinness are now hovering over the cut off line and flirting with the possibility of elimination.
