Heavy rain this morning (June 28) with sunshine and more showers on the way in Carlow

Rain is forecast to spread eastwards this morning, with it heavy in some places.

According to Met Éireann there will be sunny spells and some showers will follow from the west as the rain clears through the late morning and early afternoon.

Rain will be heaviest in Carlow around 11 am today, clearing after 1pm. 

It will become mainly dry this evening. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees with moderate northwest winds.

It will reach highs of 20C with some lighter showers around 7pm in Carlow. 

It is predicted to be mostly clear weather tonight. Partly cloudy with occasional showers along Atlantic coasts and just the odd shower further east. Very light westerly breezes overnight with temperatures falling to between 7 and 10 degrees.

A lot of dry weather on Thursday with just well scattered showers and a moderate westerly breeze. There will be a mix of cloud and some sunny spells.

Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees. Cloud will thicken along Atlantic coasts in the evening ahead of approaching rain.
