Status Yellow wind warning issued for Waterford with risk of thunderstorms

A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Carlow and a number of other counties, with isolated thunderstorms possible according to Met Éireann. 

The national weather forecaster issued the warning for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary and Waterford.

Met Éireann forecast that it will be "very windy or squally for a time today with isolated thunderstorms possible".

The Status Yellow wind warning is from 2pm on Tuesday afternoon until 7pm that evening. 

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow - Gale warning for all coasts of Ireland and on the Irish Sea remains in place until 6pm this evening. 

Southerly winds will reach gale force 8 at times on all Irish coastal waters and on the Irish Sea, according to Met Éireann.
