Heavy blustery showers are expected today (February 22), mostly affecting Atlantic counties before moving to other areas.
That's according to Met Éireann, which also forecasts lower temperatures of just 6 to 8 degrees in the afternoon with cold brisk winds.
Some of today's showers may turn wintry over higher ground with possible hail and isolated thunderstorms too.
Tonight showers will die out early tonight, leaving mostly dry and clear conditions.
It will be cold with frost and possible icy patches as temperatures drop to between -1 and +3 degrees as moderate to fresh northwest winds ease.
Cloud will increase in the northwest towards morning, with a few patches of light rain or drizzle developing.
