CARLOW recorded the highest temperatures in Ireland this Tuesday.
That’s according to Met Éireann, who said the weather station in Oak Park, Carlow recorded a maximum air temperature of 28.8 degrees, the highest recorded in the country.
Today was the warmest day of the year!

Our synoptic station at Oak Park in Co. Carlow reached 28.8°C, with numerous other stations right across the country seeing temperatures in excess of 25°C. pic.twitter.com/Hk8kbCB6fZ
The second highest on record was in Ballyhaise, Cavan, at 26.5 degree, while numerous other weather stations reportedly hit 25 degrees.
As high levels of humidity will continue to dominate the weather this week, Met Eireann said it will become ‘unsettled’ as thunderstorms are expected to roll in across the country, getting heavy at times.
There is hazy sunshine expected for Thursday, while very warm and light winds around. If thunderstorms produce downpour, spot flooding should be expected. Highest temperatures are expected to be 22 to 26 degrees.
Friday is thought to be ‘not as warm’ as previous days, with highs of 19 to 24 degrees and isolated showers. The same can be said for the weekend.
