Many places are forecast to be dry today with sunny spells and well scattered showers.
According to Met Éireann, cloud will tend to increase as the day goes on though, especially in the west, with patchy rain arriving along western and southwestern coasts this evening. Top temperatures will range 17 to 20 degrees. Mostly moderate westerly winds will be fresh at times near western and southern coasts.
Highest temperatures will reach 20C in Carlow around 3pm.
Cloud will thicken countrywide tonight with outbreaks of rain in the west spreading eastwards overnight. Lows of 11 to 14 degrees. Winds will fall mostly light to moderate southwest, but will freshen along Atlantic coasts towards morning.
It is expected to rain from 3am on Friday with showers expected to last until after 12 noon.
It will be cloudy and humid tomorrow, Friday, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, heaviest and most persistent near Atlantic coasts. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees.
It will become rather breezy or windy in the afternoon, with west to southwest winds increasing moderate to fresh and gusty, strong near Atlantic coasts. Winds will veer west to northwest in the evening.
