Menopause café a great success in Carlow

Menopause café a great success in Carlow

An event educating people about menopause and the options available has taken place in Carlow.

The National Menopause Café series - which kicked off at the UMPC Outreach Centre on Friday May 5, 2023 - was considered a great success, with a large group of women attending the informative event.

Consultant Endocrinologist Dr. Mary Ryan was joined by Lorraine Keane and nutritionist Sarah Brereton in hosting the café, which focused on menopause and perimenopause education.

Lorraine shared her own personal perimenopause story with attendees while Sarah Brereton talked about the key nutrients required to support women through these hormonal changes.

Others gathered at the event had the opportunity to eat, drink and discuss their own personal experiences of the menopause in an accessible and respectful space.
