Borris makes it big in Italy, showcasing Carlow talent and craftsmanship.
Borris Lace workshops were held in Matera, Italy earlier this year as part of the CraftHub Exhibition.
Irish craftswomen exchanged lace techniques with local Italian participants.
The Italian Exhibition of Crafthub was a wonderful occasion for the Italian participants to gain an insight into the craft techniques involved in creating Borris Lace inspired designs.
It was also an opportunity for the Borris Lacemakers who went to Matera to learn about local lace techniques and imagine future cooperations.
Borris Lace was established in 1846 in South Carlow as a response to the economic hardships faced by locals due to the Famine.
