Local Carlow company are delighted to celebrate 40 years in business with the community

Local Carlow company Seamus Byrne Electrical (SBE) Ltd. celebrates 40 years in business!

The SBE group, comprised of Seamus Byrne Electrical Ltd, South East Electrical Wholesale Ltd and Xenon Building Technology Ltd was started by Managing Director Shay Byrne in 1983.

Shay Byrne from Tinryland, has evolved his business into one prominent within the electrical engineering industry, successfully completing numerous high-profile contracts across Ireland

He has a strong commitment to the local area with the SBE group currently employing nearly 100 individuals, many of whom are from Carlow. Along with this, they have trained more than 250 Apprentices over the past 40 years.

The company celebrated 40 years in business at their annual summer barbeque on Friday. During the celebration, they remembered two of their deceased former colleagues, Pat and Mick Scully. As a testament to their commitment to supporting the next generation of skilled tradesmen, the inaugural Pat and Mick Scully Apprentice Award was introduced. This award serves as an opportunity for SBE to recognise exceptional apprentice talents who demonstrate good character, excellent craftsmanship, kindness, and a willingness to learn throughout their apprenticeship.

The recipient of the first Pat and Mick Scully Apprentice Award is Eoin Kavanagh, with runners up Craig Kehoe, Sean O ‘Dornan and Mark Dermody.
