Junction tightening works completed at Athy Road in Carlow in an effort to improve safety
The Municipal District of Carlow recently completed junction tightening at Athy Road, Carlow as part of the Active Travel Programme.
The purpose of this junction tightening scheme was to improve pedestrian safety, by reducing the crossing distance a pedestrian has to spend on the roadway. The tighter corner radii also forces vehicles to reduce their speed entering the housing estate.
