WHAT'S ON: Your Carlow Garden Festival 2023 weekend guide that will keep you busy

On Friday 4th August, Matthew Wilson & Alys Fowler will host events in Altamont Gardens as part of Carlow Garden Festival 2023.

Matthew will hold a talk 'Dynamic Planting: Combining plants, materials and place' at 11.30am. This talk considers the use of plants in relation to material, place and vernacular and examines how plants can be used to maximum effect whatever the shape or size of the garden.

Then, at 3pm, Alys Fowler will begin her talk on 'How to start again'. This focuses on how to redesign a garden sustainably. 

You can get a full day Friday ticket for €35. 

Saturday 5th August marks the last day of Carlow Garden Festival 2023. 

At 11am, Mare Staunton will lead a garden tour around Delta Sensory Gardens which is regularly voted as the top visitor attraction in Carlow on Trip Advisor.

The tour costs €10.

Wrapping up the festival, Fergus Garrett will hold a talk in Carlow's Huntington Gardens. Fergus was chosen by 'Gardens Illustrated' as one of the 30 most influential living garden designers and horticultural educators in Britain.

This talk starts from 3pm and costs €19.50.
