New pathway beside Rath's will link Staplestown Road and Pollerton Road for pedestrians and cyclists

As part of the Active Travel programme, the Municipal District of Carlow have organised for a contractor to carry out works create a link between the Staplestown Road and the Pollerton Road for pedestrians and cyclists in Carlow town.

The works involve upgrading the existing back laneways to the rear of established residential/commercial area.

The laneway surface will be improved, appropriate street furniture will be provided alongside lighting and signage.

The project will create a new 130m access route for locals and improve safety for road users.
