WHAT'S ON: Your guide to Grass Roots 2023 launching this week in Bagenalstown, Carlow

This weekend will see the launch of Grass Roots 2023 in Bagnalestown, Carlow.

Run by Muine Bheag Arts, who are an artist-run organisation based in Co. Carlow, holding this event for a third year.

Grass Roots is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, Creative Ireland and Carlow County Council.

On Friday 11th August they will celebrate the official launch of the event in The Railway House, Kilcarrig St, Muine Bheag from 6pm.

On Saturday 12th August, there will be a 'Grass Roots Tour'.

Four artists were commissioned to create a series of new works that will be presented in the public spaces in the town of Muine Bheag. These artists are Cóilín O’Connell, Mollie Anna King, Niamh Seana Meehan and Holly Pickering.

The Arts team invite all to join the guided tour in which they showcase these public artworks.

The tour will begin at Rudkin’s Mill, Bachelors Walk at 2pm.

The programme will include a series of events over the course of the month from 11th August – 10th September 2023.
