Revealed: Carlow is one of the Top 10 most expensive counties to rent property in Ireland
Carlow is one of the Top 10 most expensive counties in Ireland to rent property, according to the Daft.ie Rental Price Report for Q2 2023.
The average rent in Carlow totals €1,422. In Carlow, market rents were on average 16.5% higher in the second quarter of 2023 than a year previously.
As expected, Dublin is listed as the most expensive place to rent.
While Leitrim is named least expensive, with average rent totaling €1,014.
The national average cost for rent is €1,792.
Commenting on the report, its author and Associate Professor in Economics at Trinity College Dublin, Ronan Lyons said "The good news is that the close-to-stable rents being seen in Dublin at the moment are at least in part another exhibit in the long list of evidence that supply is the solution to a supply shortage and to high prevailing rents.
The bad news, however, is that costs are prohibitively high for standard private rental accommodation to be built anywhere outside of Dublin for the foreseeable future".
