Enjoy a free day out and learn about the history of Lisnavagh House & Gardens

Lisnavagh House, Rathvilly

This weekend marks the start of National Heritage Week 2023 which celebrates Ireland’s cultural, built and natural heritage. All across the country there will be a variety of events and exhibitions to celebrate the week.

On Saturday 12th August from 10am to 5pm, Lisnavagh House & Gardens, Rathvilly, Carlow will open their doors to the public free of charge.

They will host a talk by William McClintock Bunbury about the history of Lisnavagh House & Gardens and the Bunbury family. There will also be a woodland walk and a hedge laying workshop by Dr. Eoin Donnelly who will make a presentation on the traditional skill and benefits of hedge-laying and the importance of protecting our environmental heritage.
