WHAT'S ON: Ever wanted to learn more about the prehistoric Brownshill Dolmen in Carlow?

Here's your chance to learn more about the Brownshill Dolmen on Hackettstown Road, Co. Carlow.

As part of National Heritage Week 2023, Carlow Historical and Archaeological Society will host a talk at Brownshill Dolmen today. Saturday 12th August from 12pm - 1pm.

Brownshill Dolmen, it has been estimated, was constructed between 4,900 and 5,500 years ago. The granite capstone, weighing about 103 tonnes, is believed to have been a place where religious ceremonies took place.
