ALERT: Access to Carlow train station affected by road works in the town for the next week

Carlow Municipal District will be carrying out road works to improve the Railway Road (L-4012) from its junction with Old Dublin Road to St. Joseph’s School entrance.

The works will start tomorrow, Friday 18th August and be in place until Wednesday 23rd August will the exception of the weekend.

The road will be reopened for the weekend and will operate without restrictions.

Traffic management and diversions will be in place weekdays from 8:00am to 6:30pm.

The works will affect access to Carlow train station. However, the project will be conducted in two separate phases in order to allow those travelling by train to enter the station.

In phase 1, access to the train station will be via Green Lane. As shown below:

While in phase 2, access to the train station will be via Old Dublin Road. As shown below:

Motorists who intend to use the station road are advised to plan their journey in advance or avoid the area if possible.
