Two Carlow small businesses will be showcased at Ploughing 2023

Two small businesses from Carlow will be showcased at the National Ploughing Championships 2023 as part of the Local Enterprise Village.

Jo Browne offers luxury natural beauty and home products and are located in Hacketstown, County Carlow.

Jo Browne from Jo Browne said, ‘I am delighted to be in the Local Enterprise Village for another year at the National Ploughing Championships. To have 300,000 potential customers, no other show in the world can offer this .It is a great opportunity to meet so many people in person and to showcase my products over the three days.’

Cullen Nurseries are a family run DAFM Approved nursery on 19 acres of land, also located in Hacketstown, County Carlow.

Caitriona Cullen of Cullen Nurseries said ‘The National Ploughing Championship is the highlight of the rural calendar and we’re incredibly excited and really looking forward to meeting the farming and rural communities over the three days.’

This opportunity allows the local companies to exhibit their business to almost 300,000 people supported by Local Enterprise Office Carlow.

Speaking about the National Ploughing Championships, Kieran Comerford Head of Economic Development and Enterprise at Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office said, ‘The National Ploughing Championship is a significant event for small businesses. The Local Enterprise Office Carlow has been working along side both Cullen Nurseries and Jo Browne over the summer to assist them in maximizing their business sales, merchandising and opportunities. There is something for everyone in the Local Enterprise Village’.

The Local Enterprise Village can be found at the ploughing which takes place in Ratheniska, County Laois from Tuesday 19th September to Thursday 21st September.
