Carlow residents will benefit from water supply upgrade works in the coming days

Residents from Rathvilly, County Carlow will benefit from water supply upgrade works in the coming days.

The works will involve the replacement of more than one kilometre of ageing pipes in the Moanavoth region of Rathvilly.

The section of works will take place on Rathmore Lane, between the T junction at Phealan St and end at the crossroads at Coole Lane.

Local Fianna Fáil TD Jennifer Murnane O’Connor has welcomed the works in Rathvilly, saying

“Both homes and businesses have had to endure disruptions to supply in recent years due to the age and deteriorating condition of the water mains.

I’m delighted that upgrade works are set to commence shortly to improve the water supply in Moanavoth, Rathvilly.

These works will be of huge benefit to local residents and business owners who have been dealing with a water supply that has been far from satisfactory for too long.”

Uisce Eireann alongside Carlow County Council have confirmed they will begin the works in the coming days.
