Revealed: Airbnb bookings contributed €3 million to the economy in Carlow

Airbnb bookings contributed €3 million to the economy in Carlow in 2022, according to a new Oxford Economics report.

The report also finds Airbnb supported 20 jobs across Carlow in the same year and 320 jobs in the wider South East region.

It also states that the total number of nights booked in Carlow on Airbnb in 2022 was 26,000

In addition to these findings, the estimated value of Airbnb guest spending to the local economy was valued at €10 million for 2022.

This report comes as government actively seek to further regulate short-term lets in a bid to bring more properties back into the private rental sector.
