Following his win in 2022, Carlow man Eamonn Tracey retained his title as he won in the overall Conventional class at the National Ploughing Championships 2023.

The Garyhill farmer will have no rest as he is set to head over to Latvia for the World Championships.

Speaking to Carlow Live, Eaomonn said 'It couldn't be any quicker. We're ploughing [in Laois] on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Then Friday afternoon our tractors and all the gear have to be loaded and ready to leave for Latvia by 2pm.'

'Once we get out to Latvia we have some practice ground organised. We'll be out there for ten days in advance just preparing, getting use to the ground and soil conditions.'

The World Ploughing Championships will take place in Latvia on the 13th and 14th October 2023.
