Alert: Orange weather warning in place for Carlow as Storm Agnes arrives
Met Éireann have issued a status orange wind warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary, and Waterford.
They have also issued a status yellow warning for rain in Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, and Wicklow, with status orange in place for Cork, Kerry and Waterford
Storm Agnes will bring spells of heavy rain, combined with strong and gusty winds, with some severe and damaging gusts.
The wind warning is valid from 9am until 5pm on Wednesday 27th September, the rain warning valid until Thursday morning.
Potential impacts includes coastal flooding, difficult travel conditions, power outages, localised flooding, poor visibility and fallen trees.
Highest temperatures of 15 to 17 degrees.
The public are advised to only make necessary journeys due to the hazardous travelling conditions.
