Positive Aging Week 2023 is a national event running from 1st – 7th October 2023. The aim of this week is to recognise the value and contribution of older people in communities and society. This years theme is 'Challenging Ageism', which addresses the stereotypes and prejudices that impact on older people in society.
Carlow Older Person Forum with the support of Carlow County Council and Carlow County Development Partnership have created a schedule of free events in Carlow to celebrate Positive Aging Week.
Carlow Garda Station invite all to their Coffee Morning as part of Positive Aging Week. The event will take place on Tuesday 3rd October between the hours of 11am and 1pm and will show attendees how they work to keep the community of Carlow safe.
They will share a prisoners pathway from arrest, through to detention and interview. You will also get a glimpse at the technological capabilities of the Gardaí, including CCTV, Tetra Radios, handheld mobile devices and more.
