Carlow to see new casino open as planning permission is granted to convert old premises
A decision to grant planning permission was issued by Carlow County Council for the change of use of town premises from an existing bar to a casino at No.53 & 54 Tullow Street, Carlow.
Planning permission was granted on 25th October 2023 to Shi Lin & Zhanglian Cheng.
The development consists of the change of use at basement floor level (with access at ground floor Tullow Street) from an existing bar to a casino and all associated site works.
The same applicant was previously granted planning permission at ground floor level of the same premises in September. This application detailed the change of use at ground floor level from existing bar and restaurant to a food court, seating area and food preparation area with new pedestrian entrance on the front façade at street level.
Planning permission was also granted for a new ground floor entrance allowing access to first floor and change of use from existing nightclub toilet facilities to a two bedroom residential unit and all associated site works
Planning permission has been granted for both applications, subject to conditions set out by the council.
