Two Carlow candidates were selected this week by Fianna Fáil to run in the Muinebheag/Bagenalstown local electoral area elections which will be held in June 2024.

Current elected Councillor Arthur McDonald was chosen alongside newcomer Daniel Pender.

New candidate Daniel Pender is just twenty-three years old from Ballinabranna. Daniel is a recent Business and Economics graduate from Trinity College, Dublin.

Daniel commented on the selection, "You can’t just hope for a better future, you have to vote for one. That’s why I’m running and I want to focus on improving the lives of people in rural Carlow by supporting housing projects to reduce rents and waiting lists and make life more affordable for the ordinary person."

The Tullow local electoral area selected sitting Councillors John McDonald and John Pender to contest the next local elections for Fianna Fáil.
