The new pathway linking Staplestown Road and Pollerton Road has been completed.
As part of the Active Travel programme, the Municipal District of Carlow organised for a contractor to carry out works to offer the public of Carlow Town a convenient and efficient way of reaching their daily destinations.
The Carlow Active Travel team wanted to ensure that the new pathway would be safe for pedestrians and cyclists. Therefore, they equipped the route with ample lighting, and well-marked lanes, so that members of the public can feel confident using this route at any time of the day.
The project has created a new 130m access route for locals in the hope of promoting an active lifestyle while reducing carbon footprint.
